Interior Light

In the series Interior Light, Monika Cicolella explores the connection to oneself and the special relationship between our inner life and the expression of it through our body. During a session painting a living model, she decided to represent what the model was really giving her to see, beyond the posture of his body : a silent human being, deep in thought, turned towards his inner light and whose body is merely an envelope of shadows letting pass some of this interior light.  The result is a true "human calligraphy", a language that everyone can read and interpret according to their own sensibility.
